A Noble Quest

An afternoon in the Barnes & Noble to check out the Flash Bible left me with a stack of books referring to other more overtly sacred texts. Even if this meant I'm still sadly lacking in my ability to produce animation for this site, it did make for some fun reading.

Frank McCourt has a book out on the history of the Claddagh ring, beloved by millions of Irish descent, not to mention Buffy/Angel shippers (you know who you are!)

Spiritual Tattoo, a suggestive analysis of the anthropology of tattoos in relation to religious cultures.

Signs & Symbols in Christian Art by Ferguson--a basic reference on the subject of its title, but perhaps not exactly what a jewelry maker would be looking for as a comprehensive reference for design models.

And the winner is (almost) . . .

The results are in, and according to Amazon.com the #2 selling item of jewelry the first month of the holiday season was the Sterling Silver Inspirational Bracelet.

But rest assured, the Blingdom of God will not stop there. Today, #2--next month, the top 3 shall belong to the heavenly host!

Seek Ye First . . .

Two thousand years ago, a man that many believe to be God incarnate was crowned with thorns, whipped with shards of glass and cruelly hung out to die.

So who wouldn't commemorate that by wearing a 24 carat gold cross with diamond studs?

This is a site dedicated to the fusion of faith and fashion--not just in Christianity, but all forms of religion and metaphysical belief. We'll explore the link between adornment and religion in the human mind, the evolution of religious jewelry throughout history, legal issues, where to buy stuff and, of course, CELEBRITIES!

So whether you're Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Bahai, Wiccan or just simply Divine, hit refresh a few times everyday and watch more bling appear in the heavens above.
